Saudi female journalist gets 60 lashes for sex show. Will the people of Islam ever get out of the dark ages?

The only redeeming part of the story is that it wasn't only the woman who received such a ridiculous sentence. The man got 1000 lashes and five years in prison.

What is this religion so afraid of that they behave in such a barbaric manner?

Good question. Islam today seems to be where Christianity was several hundred years ago, when they were hanging witches and all.

Hopefully Islam will progress as well.
